Web Design For Internet Marketers Review

Those of you who have read my blog recently will know of the issues I had in terms of product conversions and it was a strange coincidence that I got to know James Francis around the same time.

James is a fellow marketer from the UK and he has just created Web Design For Internet Marketers, a course on how to create and tweak your own squeeze and sales pages so they convert as high as possible.

I found James to be very friendly and approachable and he was keen to show me the product so I could review it for you here on my blog.

Web Design For Internet Marketers Review

The course is split across five module, is entirely video based and available via a user-friendly membership website.

While video may not be everyone’s favourite learning method, I can see why James chose it because his course is very “hands on” and he demonstrates the material as he goes along.

There is some downloadable content in PDF format, but a lot of the information would have been lost if he had used anything other than video demonstrations.

Module 1 – Intro to Simple Webpage Creation

James starts right at the beginning here and goes into the basics of setting up a domain name, hosting, using FTP and how to create professional looking websites for free.

I didn’t to sit through all of this stuff because I know it already but I personally found value in video number four.

Here James analyses a number of popular squeeze and sales pages and explains what makes them convert so well. He looked at Amazon and famous blogs belonging to Michael Fortin and Jeff Walker as well as products such as Blogging to the Bank and Rapid Mass Traffic.

If you do not know much about HTML coding, you can download a “cheatsheet” from this section which provides quick and easy reference for common web page elements such as creating links, text alignment, bulleted lists etc.

Module 2 – Creating Killer Squeeze Pages

This is where things start getting interesting and is the main focus around the pre-sell content.

Here James enables you to download his squeeze page template which converts at 55.45% and he claims to have tested it across seven different niches.

If you are struggling to persuade visitors to opt-in to your mailing list then you could do a lot worse than use this proven template to increase your numbers.

He prides himself on using an “ugly” template but he’s justified in doing so. I have seen and tested lots of “fancy” looking squeeze pages and they were lucky to convert at 40% – here you get your own copy of a superior performing template as part of the product.

The video tutorial shows you how to edit the template and there is some repetition on using FTP from Module 1 but overall the information here is solid.

As bonuses, you can download a video squeeze page template and also watch a video of how to use these templates with WordPress.

Module 3 – Designing Cash-Sucking Sales Pages

Not content with just handing over a squeeze page template, James also allows you to download his sales page template too!

This module is essentially more of the same of Module 2 in terms of demonstrating how to edit the page but he offers some advice on the type of content you should include in your sales letter.

This will not, of course, be a substitute for hiring a professional copywriter to write your sales pitch, but it will give you some guidance on creating a sales page fast and on a budget.

Module 4 – Setting Up Your Own Members Area

This is a very comprehensive module, signified by the 10 tutorial videos compared to the two or three offered in the other modules on this course.

This module could be a product in itself and was one I felt I personally learned the most from.

James goes into detail demonstrating how to set up a membership website using the free Joomla software platform and provides two videos alone on installing it.

Further videos are provided on customisation, tweaking, creating SEO-friendly urls and adding content.

I found the video on integrating payment systems interesting because I had never heard of the service before and it enables you to plugin all of the popular processors such as Paypal, Clickbank, Worldpay etc. easily.

James also provides a downloadable Joomla user guide in PDF format.

One aspect I did like was that James added two “bonus” videos on setting up payment systems and another on Clickbank.

A number of high profile products have been criticised for dwelling too much on this type of content rather than spending more time on actually making money. It was great to see this added just as a bonus rather than an integral part of the product itself.

Module 5 – Creating an Awesome Blog

This was possibly the most disappointing module because it didn’t feel like a “module” at all.

Here, James has added two videos based around installing and customising a blog with plugins which I suspect he created previously and added to this course to round the modules up to five.

That’s not to say the content isn’t good because as in all the other content in this product, he explains things well while demonstrating in front of your eyes.

But, it’s Modules 2, 3 and 4 where the value in this course is.

Verdict

If you need a squeeze page that converts and a clean sales page template to work from, then you will get your money’s worth from Web Design For Internet Marketers.

Perhaps more could have been added to Module 3 because it was very similar to Module 2 but the fact remains you get two templates you can use immediately as well as guidance on editing them.

Module 4 was very comprehensive and should remove the barrier to anybody wanting to set up their own membership website but felt too intimidated to do so.

For a relatively low fee, Web Design For Internet Marketers gives you proven, useable content and solid, hands on tuition in how to develop better converting web pages.

And who doesn’t want more subscribers on their list and more sales as a result?

    Hi, David
Thanks for the review. There are sooo many products being launched it’s really difficult for anyone to know which ones work and which don’t – all the sales blurb all sounds wonderful. It’s good to get the opinion of someone who has tried the product to give an unbiased review.

I think the difficulty of reviews on blogs is that there are so many products one cannot try and review them all in one place so intending purchasers have trouble finding the reviews scattered over the blogs – or if you review everything your blog “drowns” or you do trying out all the products!!

    all the best

I am just looking at his course now. I was interested in what he had to say about squeeze pages because I badly need a more professional looking one for one of my niches.

His sales page said it could be used with XSite-pro but I haven’t heard him mention that in any of the videos I have watched so far.

He showed some good squeeze page designs yet his template is nothing like them.

I think the course is great if you are new to it all.
