In Myself I Trust – Pledging to Do Things Right

This week I began the first module of Alex Jeffrey’s coaching program and along with Rich Schefren’s intensive GPS 2.0 program, I am on the verge of being all coached out. Seriously. I never had this much information to deal with when I was at university. Being taught by these two successful online marketers is a real education and I know I am now heading down the right path. The main theme of Alex’s first module was going back to basics. All solid, common sense stuff that up until now I have been guilty of not doing. One of the things he covered was to create a pledge for my business and I thought it would make ideal blog post material.

The main purpose of the pledge is to keep focused on the task in hand and to keep yourself accountable. By publishing it on my blog I am now making myself accountable to the entire world, so if any of you notice me slacking off then please be sure to put me straight!

I am going to cover most of the points in the pledge in further detail in a later blog post, but for the time being, this is what I pledge to do on a daily basis from now on:

  • Read the pledge every morning before starting work
  • No longer be a perfectionist – good enough is good enough
  • Work to a countdown timer on productive tasks
  • Create a minimum of three new blog posts each week
  • Deal with emails twice a day only
  • Update Twitter three times a day only
  • Record the day’s activities on “Daily Did” sheets
  • Take a short break every hour
  • Visit the gym every Tuesday and Thursday
  • Plan tomorrow, today

These 10 pledges will enable me to stay focused throughout the day and eliminate the sheer amount of hourly wastage which is happening at the moment.

    Hi David

I hope that you enjoy your coaching with Alex and Rich.

I was on Alex’s first coaching course and learned so much during that coaching – and yes, I did get information overload at times. I’m still learning and relearning what we covered in that course.

I have to admit that some of my promises have gone by the board at times and my blog is in need of an update and revamp, but as long as you keep moving forward and don’t worry if others seem way ahead of you, you’ll be so much further forward!

    Good luck with the coaching.

    Hilary

    Hey David,
That’s great that you are putting that out there. I love the accountability!!
