Hello & Welcome to DavidWalker.tv

A very warm welcome to the brand new, fresh out of the wrapper, DavidWalker.tv blog! A few of you reading this may be aware of me, but most of you won’t, which is why I set up this blog in the first place – to brand myself online.

Millions of people try and make money online and almost all fail. I suppose I am one of the fortunate ones. I first dipped my toes into web design and internet marketing as an A-level student way back in 1997 and for the past three years have been able to earn a living exclusively from my online efforts.

This is where it has all gone a bit stale. Working for myself online has now become a bit of a chore. I find myself stuck in an online rut and am losing both the motivation and enthusiasm to actually make the sort of money I feel I should be earning. At the moment, doing “just enough” seems to be all I can force myself to do.

This has to change. I am going to be 30 years old in less than 12 months time and feel as though a fantastic opportunity is passing me by as each day draws to a close. It’s just like being in school all over again – having the brains to do well but not having the motivation to reach my full potential.

I am a C+ or a B- at best. Must try harder.

For too long I have tried to “crack” internet marketing alone and while the past three years have been moderately successful, the frightening thing is I don’t actually have a solid “business” to speak of. I have flitted from one online activity to the next, chasing the money along the way.

I have been involved in it all – eBay, Google Adsense, affiliate marketing, CPA, PLR, white hat, black hat and everything in between. A jack of all trades but master of none. Most of these activities have made me money, some very good money, but ultimately, what do I have to show for 36 months of full time effort?

I have done a lot of soul searching over the past week and have questioned myself over what I want to achieve from my online efforts and life in general. I know the only way I am ever going to really achieve the big money is to stop jumping from one online fad to the next and become the brand, become the business and become the sort of person people will be falling over themselves to do business with.

There is not going to be an easy way to do this, so here I am. Day One.

I know I have so much more to give the online business community than I am currently doing and I know I need some help in dragging me out of this rut I have put myself in.

So, a few days ago, I signed up to Rich Schefren’s Guided Profits System which supposedly will help me to break down the barriers I have put up myself and eliminate the constraints in my business over a six week period. I’ve never had any business coaching before but Schefren has mentored a number of the leading internet marketers and big corporations in the USA, so who am I to question his credentials?

Just looking at the sheer amount of video material in the Member’s Area means I will have to dedicate about 2-3 hours per day for the next six weeks starting from tomorrow and hopefully by the end of it I will be thinking a lot differently about how I go about achieving my goals online.

I also bought the coaching via fellow Welshman Alex Jeffrey’s affiliate link on the basis I will also get his coaching programme thrown into the bargain as well. While Alex is primarily targeting the “newbie” market, he is also an expert in list building, product creation and launching and should also be able to give me invaluable information on obtaining contacts and setting up joint ventures. Everything a fledgling business needs, right?

So, that’s where I am at the moment. Starting out a brand new business, despite being in “business” for the past three years!

This blog is going to be where you can find out details of what I am up to, any new products or services I come up with and ongoing progress reports – so please check back often, or sign up to my email notification list or RSS feed so you don’t miss any updates!

Comments are always welcome, so please help me get this blog off to a flying start and post your thoughts below!

Hi David, just wanted to say hi and say I am having a similar problem. I have studying online marketing for over 3 years and feel like I should know what I am doing but sometimes still feel a bit lost, and at times a bit intimadated by the things I need to learn to continue making progress and feel fear everytime I start.I kind of feel like its my own brain blocking me from learning and doing what I need to do.Well take care and wishing you the best of success!

All I can say is thanks for the transparency and that I think you’re doing a great job with your ventures & direction – it makes for an inspiring story. Our stories share a lot of similarities – particulary the stuggling along and gambling affiliate marketing stuff.

I think that you’ve chosen two very great mentors ni Alex and Rich, from what I have seen of their methodologies, you’re in great hands.

I wish you all the best in continues success for 2010.
