My blog is where people get know me better and I will recommend certain products on here in the form of blog posts.

However, as far as my own specific products goes, they will have their own dedicated website.

Backlinks are a long term process. Every backlink will help you improve your long term search engine positions but if you are a looking for a backlink which will give you a shot of instant traffic, then I would look at social bookmarking or writing a guest post for someone else’s blog.

I am a firm believer that you need to be passionate about a topic if you are to blog successfully about it, otherwise where is the motivation?

Sure, you can make a lot of money blogging about stuff you have zero interest in, but that money does not come about straight away so it is your passion which will drive you through the difficult start up phase where you get few visitors and even less financial rewards!

Great post! Everyone starts somewhere and the key is to just get off the fence and get started! Then you can test and revise as you go along and that’s how you find out what works best for you and what doesn’t. Also stay focused and be consistent!

I agree with what you said about how “you don’t need to get it “right”, just get it going”. So many people try to get things perfect before they make it live. If you wait until you get your blog perfect before you make it live on the Internet you will never have a blog. There’s no such thing as perfect. Just get it up and running and you can tweak it later.
