Here are this week’s posts:

Monday:

Procrastinate and Get More Done

If you are as sick as I am of carbon-copy marketers telling you to “take action” as their best source of advice to make money online, then you will enjoy this post. The painful truth is you will never be able to take action and complete everything you need to get done so selective procrastination is the way forward! Do less and get more done. Easy!

Tuesday:

Do Not Feed the Seagulls

I wrote this post as a response to a complaint I had from a customer who purchased my recent WSO (which was massively underpriced to begin with). The issue was I offered an updated version of an older product as a special bonus if you bought the new product. The customer thought because they bought the older product, they should get the updated version free – despite me not selling the product with a promise of free updates. My argument is there would have been no complaints if I hadn’t bothered to update the older product. So, by working harder for my customers, I caused myself more hassle. Was I right or wrong to do this? I’d love to get your opinion and a number of comments have been left on this post already.

Wednesday:

Huge Profits With a Tiny List # 15

The tip here is to allow your subscribers to ask you anything, whether it’s something about the niche you are operating in or something personal about you. I used this to promote a special Thanksgiving/Black Friday discount for one-to-one coaching via Skype which you could only access if you were an email subscriber. My apologies to casual passers by.

Thursday:

7 Link Challenge

While my friends in the USA were guzzling down huge portions of Turkey, the lack of Thanksgiving festivities in the UK gave me extra time on my hands. So, I completed the seven link challenge that is doing the rounds on hundreds of blogs across the Internet. Some older posts made the cut, some very old posts made the cut and I also included a few new ones too. Let me know what you think about my choices and see if I nominated you to take part in the challenge next!

Friday:

Painless Purchases Produce Profits

Why do you think “Black Friday” sales are so successful? It’s not the camping out in sub zero temperatures overnight to be first in line, or getting maced by fellow frenzied shoppers that holds the appeal. It’s because the “pain” of buying has been removed, allowing for minor inconveniences like having your eyes melted not to get in the way of a bargain.

Curation Corner

2012 Plans. Chris Brogan has outlined his plans for the next 12 months before most have reached for the indigestion tablets after the Thanksgiving excess. I’ll do a post like this of my own, predictably as 2011 draws to a close.

The Dangers of Turning a Loss Leader into a Bait and Switch. Here, Dean Hunt does nothing to disprove the widely held belief most mechanics are crooks. I suspect his garage will offer oil changes via Clickbank very soon.

The Most Stressful Five Minutes in Internet Marketing. Having launched a few WSOs in recent months myself, I can relate to the nonsense Tony Shepherd goes through to get the offer set up. There has to be a better way?

Big Sites vs Little Sites & The Future of Search Affiliate Marketing. I found this post by Andrew Hansen particularly interesting as I am currently working on a new website outside of the Internet Marketing industry. Just like at McDonalds, I’m going for the large option.

Today is Black Friday – traditionally a time of sales madness in the USA.

Indeed, some people even miss out on Thanksgiving altogether…

Preferring to camp outside their favourite store to ensure they get their mits on a bargain early next morning.

Fortunately, you can use “Black Friday” buzz every single day in your own marketing.

One such way is to “bundle” your items.

Roger Dooley, author of Brainfluence, which uses neuromarketing and brain science as a method to improve marketing results, says when items are “bundled”, the customer can’t easily evaluate the fairness of the deal…

Or put a specific price on each item to determine whether the bundle is worth the money.

Take auto luxury bundles for example.

You may be quoted several hundred dollars for leather seats, electric windows and other desirables…

And you’ll hand over the cash without batting an eyelid.

By comparison, if a vending machines takes your loose change and gives you nothing in return…

There will be hell to pay!

Bundling items takes away the pain of buying for your customer and makes it easier for them to say an enthusiastic “yes” to whatever you’re selling.

So, it will come as no surprise to you that I’m going to offer you a bundle of brand new Internet Marketing products today.

Darren Monroe, of Warrior Forum fame, has created 14 brand new products which he values at $1,000…

But is offering them today with a starting price of just $14.

It’s a dimesale, so the sooner you get in on this, the less you pay.

You don’t need to be a neuroscientist to figure out this is a great deal!

P.S. Just like any sale worth it’s price tag, Mega Sale is being pulled down in a few days time.

So, if you want 14 brand new Internet Marketing products starting at just $1 apiece, then head on over to the thread right now:

Seeing as it’s Thanksgiving (and residing in the UK we don’t celebrate it, so no turkey for me) I thought it would be a good opportunity to participate in the 7 Link Challenge after being nominated by Barry Wells.

I’ve put out a lot of content over the past few months so it’s going to be difficult to pinpoint the “best” but this is a good opportunity to revisit some previous stuff.

Here goes…

Most Beautiful Post

I don’t take the touchy feely approach to my blog, preferring to offer real, actionable tips rather than inviting you to hold my hand online and talk about how we’ll both “make it” together. This is real life, after all, not a Bon Jovi song. However, on occasions my steely exterior has been known to crumble – none more so than when my son was born almost a year ago. Choosing a post for this category was easy…

Post Nominated: My Motivation For 2011

Most Popular Post

A lot of my earlier posts received much more in the way of comments and retweets but that’s because I was more focused on getting them. These days I write and email for my subscribers and then post it to the blog which doesn’t get anywhere near the level of interaction. It does, however, make me more money.

So, I’ll have to delve into the archives for this one. How about a post where I discussed some, let’s say, “over eager” promotion on Twitter (when I still bothered to use it).

Post Nominated: I Don’t Want to Be the Asshole at the Party

Most Controversial Post

There’s a lot of posts I could nominate for this category. I don’t intentionally set out to be controversial, it’s just there’s so much bullshit and bad information being shared online – even if it’s considered widely to be the “truth”. Whatever you “believe”, it’s always quite easy to write something to the contrary.

For example, I’ve written about why taking action wastes time, why you shouldn’t give “value” to your subscribers and posts that provide an alternative viewpoint to blogging, social networking and ethical marketing.

But, I settled for an older post, again involving Twitter. It seemed back then whatever I wrote about Twitter caused controversy. I can’t believe so many got so precious about such a time-sucking, productivity-hindering platform.

Post Nominated: Why I Dumped 51,963 Twitter Users Overnight

Most Helpful Post

I’d like to think all of my posts are “helpful” in some way and I try to share at least one useful tip in every post I publish.

However, the post I’ve chosen is a helpful guide to newbies who may have joined an Internet Marketing list for the first time. During this magical time their head is buzzing with excitement about making money by clicking a few buttons but this post serves as a reminder as to why you receive the marketing messages you do.

Post Nominated: Marketing Angels With Filthy Souls

Post Whose Success Surprised Me

For what my opinion is worth, there’s a lot of vague, idealistic crap spouted by so-called “experts” in the Internet Marketing industry that means absolutely nothing in the real world of business.

For example, you are constantly told to give “value” which is an ambiguous instruction at best. I believe my daily emails which take half an hour to write are valuable… but you may think they are crap compared to the 10,000 word tutorial on how to “provide value” to your subscribers that took you a week to write.

Another well worn Internet Marketing cliche is the “law of reciprocity”. This fictional rule (that nobody follows) is usually trotted out by newbies who are digging themselves into an early grave by giving away all their hard work for free in the hope somebody might buy something from them one day in the (very distant) future.

I was expecting a backlash from this post but it seems there are others who have the same opinion I do on this subject.

Post Nominated: Why the Law of Reciprocity Only Works One Way

Post That Didn’t Get the Attention It Deserved

A lot of my posts are not commented on so it is difficult to pinpoint one in particular that doesn’t get the “attention” it deserves.

Therefore, I’ll pick one of my “first of the month” videos. At the beginning of September, I revealed how I sold over $10,000 worth of information products in August yet the comment section raised barely a murmur.

Perhaps people don’t really want to “know” how to make money online and would prefer just to dream about it or subconsciously choose activities that fill their time but don’t reward them financially?

Anyway, in case you missed it…

Post Nominated: First of the Month September 2011

Post Most Proud Of

This is difficult because usually I just write short posts about a single topic, something I’ve read or what I am thinking about that morning. I don’t write posts that take a huge amount of effort so I rarely get that warm glow inside of a “job well done”.

So, the post I chose was one I felt passionate about while writing it. Best of all, it only took me around 10 minutes or so from start to finish.

I approached the subject of whether Internet Marketing is about love or money? As marketers, we need to get paid and that means promoting products that convert well. But, from an ethical standpoint, should we promote those at the expense of perhaps better, more helpful and useful products we know won’t convert as well?

It was written at a time when I was giving my own position in this industry some serious thought and it raised a lot of debate – I’d love to know which side of the fence you sit!

Post Nominated: Love or Money

What Do You Think?

Hopefully I chose seven entertaining posts, all of which reflected my opinion of and position within the Internet Marketing industry over the past couple of years.

If you enjoyed this collection, please feel free to leave me a comment and share it using the buttons on this page.

The final part of the challenge is to nominate a further five marketers to participate, so I’m going for:

Dean Hunt

Dee Dawber

Jens P. Berget

Matt Wolfe

Peter Wright

Hopefully they will all get involved and share their best posts with you too!

I always do my best to connect with my subscribers…

Even if at times I feel as though what I say is being ignored.

One thing I’ve always encouraged is for you to ask me anything you want.

That includes anything you want to know about me personally in addition to answering any questions you may have about Internet Marketing.

Connie Ragen Green, the super affiliate author of Huge Profits With a Tiny List suggests holding regular teleseminars to facilitate this type of discussion.

However, when I suggested running my own “doctor’s surgery” style webinar…

It was as popular as a pork chop in a synagogue.

While I don’t intend holding these sessions for the forseeable future…

I am still eager to help you on a one-to-one level if you need it.

You may have noticed my coaching page?

If the idea of a one-to-one, Skype coaching call with me appeals to you…

(To quickly summarise, I’ve earned a full time living online for almost six years and earned hundreds of thousands of dollars in niches outside of Internet Marketing… yes, I have actually made money online by means other than teaching you how to make money online!)

Then look out for a special, Thanksgiving email from me tomorrow.

Inside, I’ll share a special, time-sensitive link that will give you a huge discount for a personal coaching call with me!

Make sure your’re not eating at your computer as I don’t want to be responsible for any turkey related choking incidents!

Think of it as pre-Black Friday offer…

As well as my way of saying thank you for being a valued subscriber.

P.S. A heavily discounted one-to-one coaching offer is not the end of the bargains either!

I’m really getting into the Thanksgiving / Black Friday spirit despite being in the UK and have something amazing lined up for you on Friday too!

More details will be revealed tomorrow!

Seagulls are invading the Internet Marketing industry!

Well, not exactly.

I’m not suggesting that oversized coastal birds have swapped the beach for the Internet cafe…

Preferring to snatch bundles of cash than bags of chips from unsuspecting punters…

It’s just I’m seeing a “seagull attitude” from a minority of customers recently.

Let me explain:

Yesterday, I launched On Demand Backlinks: Power Posts as an insanely low price, high value Warrior Special Offer (WSO).

For the sub $10 it cost to purchase, the customer received 256 spreadsheets filled with thousands of individual blog posts with existing Pagerank (PR) to comment on and build do-follow backlinks.

Sounds good so far?

It was.

But, perhaps I was misguided in trying to add even more “value” (I’m really starting to get sick of that marketing phrase) to the WSO because…

I also offered an updated version of my original On Demand Backlinks product which reorganised 256 blogs which are enabled with the CommentLuv plugin to reflect the recent November Pagerank update.

I thought I was being quite generous offering this added extra…

As it took a couple of hours work checking the Pagerank of each blog and reorganising them to create a new edition.

However, I received a few complaints.

Some believed they should receive the updated On Demand Backlinks for free as they were an “existing customer” and should not have to purchase the Power Posts product to get their hands on it…

Even though I didn’t sell that product with any promise or inclusion of version updates.

I mean, you don’t get a free ticket to watch a movie sequel just because you paid to watch the first one?

Just like a seagull that snatches a donut out of your hand, it’s this sort of freebie and entitlement mindset that pisses me off about the Internet Marketing industry.

What irks me the most about this is I wouldn’t have had any complaints at all if I didn’t offer the bonus.

If I didn’t make the extra effort, didn’t go that extra mile to offer some additional “value”, not a single keystroke would have been tapped in anger.

Fortunately, the majority of my customers are a savvy bunch and appreciated the mountain of rank-boosting help they were getting for the sake of a few bucks.

P.S. To avoid any future confusion, customers who buy On Demand Backlinks: Power Posts will be offered lifetime updates to On Demand Backlinks for an additional, low, one-time fee.

Instant access to thousands of individual blog posts with existing PR can be yours:

As an Internet Marketer, you’ve probably heard how “taking action” is the key to success.

It’s not.

If you keep beating the action taking drum, you are going to fail quite spectacularly.

Here’s why:

No matter how organised and productive you are, you still cannot do everything you have to do.

You must procrastinate on something.

If you listen to Brian Tracy, author of Eat That Frog which has helped more than 500,000 people get more done, he suggests you procrastinate on small tasks.

Put off those low value activities and completely eliminate those that don’t contribute to your life.

In Bryan’s words – get rid of the tadpoles and focus on the frogs.

And, make sure you eat the biggest and ugliest frogs before everything else.

My frog is product creation…

A really big, ugly sucker that tastes awful…

But ultimately the most satisfying.

I’m also chewing on a side dish of a website project outside of the Internet Marketing niche…

Which also doesn’t taste that great…

But will fill my bank account like an all-you-can eat buffet stuffs your belly.

Dessert can wait.

Ranking your website prominently for a competitive, but very lucrative keyword is a particularly foul-tasting frog…

But absolutely necessary and best eaten in as few bites as you can.

My new product will help make the journey from mouth to stomach as pleasant as possible.

It’s called On Demand Backlinks: Power Posts and gives you thousands of individual blog posts which have existing pagerank (PR) for you to comment on and create do-follow links.

These posts range from PR0 all the way to PR4 and you can get a ton of valuable, one-way links to the website you want to rank very quickly.

Think of it as a tasty sauce or side garnish.

That frog is starting to make my mouth water.

P.S. I have made On Demand Backlinks: Power Posts available as a dimesale…

This means marketers who see it for the frog-chomping tool it is will get it for as low a price as possible…

While those who are wasting time on other things will have to pay a little more when they finally get around to it.

It’s been a tough week.

Personal commitments have meant I have not had as much time as I’d like to get everything together ahead of my product launch taking place on Monday 21 November.

But, I will battle against the clock until everything is ready for it to go live.

Here are this week’s posts:

Monday:

Why Any Idiot Can Make Money Online

It’s a sad state of affairs that around 95 percent of those who try to “make money online” fail miserably. What’s worse, is there is no secret to making money, it’s just those who fail are either swallowing a load of B.S. or wasting their time on activities that don’t pay. There’s no difference between you and Johnny Marketer who is making millions online – there have even been studies to prove it.

Tuesday:

Tasty Traffic That’s As Cheap As Chips

I am an SEO man at heart and love driving free, targeted traffic. But, if you need traffic right now, the only way you’re going to get it is by paying for it. Admittedly, it’s not as easy as it sounds and I wasted $80 acquiring just six new subscribers via a Facebook ads campaign last week. Ouch. But, in this post I talk about a method that can drive targeted buyer traffic to your websites for just pennies per visitor. Much better.

Wednesday:

Dominate the Search Engines With Your Own Private Blog Network

This post is more pitch than anything else (that’s allowed occasionally on a marketing blog, isn’t it?) for a new SEO-related product that shows you how to build your own valuable “private blog network”. I recorded a short video to take you behind the scenes on what is involved and also embedded the official preview video. Less reading. More watching.

Thursday:

How Simple Economics Can Improve Your Google Ranking

Try to stay awake for this one. I’ve started reading an economics book to see if I can draw any comparisons to the Internet Marketing industry. Writing about it in a simplified and entertaining way is almost as challenging as getting my head around the subject matter itself! However, in this post I look at the concept of “opportunity cost” and how it can help you become a more productive and successful marketer.

Friday:

Huge Profits With a Tiny List Tip # 14

It sounds obvious, but do you subscribers know you have a blog? I update mine almost every six days out of seven but always put a link to my latest post in every email I send out. If you are not actively promoting your blog, you are missing out on a lot of free traffic and sales. In this post, I also discuss when you might want to keep your blogging a secret… more marketers are doing this than you may think!

Curation Corner

All You Ever Needed Were the Basics. A post from Moon Hussain which explains why making money online and ranking your websites in the search engines is easy. Sounds like my kind of woman…

What Makes the Best Backlink? Continuing the SEO theme, Ana Hoffman does over analyse a bit here. I’m not too fussy on the links I get. The time it takes to anguish over whether a link is the “best” or not could be spent building two or three more.

(image attributed to col&tasha)

Do you have a blog?

If so, do you tell your subscribers about it?

It’s an issue raised by Connie Ragen Green in her book Huge Profits With a Tiny List and I feel it’s one worth mentioning today.

Like Connie and I, you may blog several times per week…

But if you don’t specifically tell your subscribers about your posts, they may not even realise your blog exists!

It’s for this reason I link to my blog posts in every email I send out.

Your subscriber list is your very own traffic source…

So direct that traffic to your blog and enrich your subscriber’s marketing experience!

Add images and video to your marketing message…

And invite feedback by way of the comment section.

You’ll sell more stuff and make a lot more money in the process!

However, there are occasions when you’ll want to keep quiet about your blogs.

Running your own private blog network is one such time.

Imagine owning a fleet of your own authority blogs with a high pagerank value…

Feeding your other “money sites” with powerful, one-way links and sending them soaring to the top of the search engines!

You may feel like shouting from the rooftops…

But in circumstances such as this, silence is golden.

Learn how to set up your very own lucrative private blog network here:

CLICK HERE FOR LINK JUICE FORCE

P.S. With your own private blog network, you can feed your money sites with the links they need to dominate the top of the search engines…

Even for huge, competitive industry keywords!

This is how the “big dogs” rank effortlessly and you can join their “secret club” for just a few dollars:

I’ve written a ton about how to get more done over the past few months.

But, it still won’t change the fact we will never find enough hours in the day to do everything we want…

No matter how organised and productive we are.

An interesting approach to dealing with this is the notion of opportunity cost, more commonly associated with economics.

Don’t worry – I won’t get into this too deeply!

Opportunity cost simply refers to whether your time or money could be better spent on something else.

Let’s take trying to rank your blog or website in Google as an example.

You could spend your time on the following link building tactics with no guarantee of a first page ranking:

An entire week writing one guest post to publish on an authority blog.

Several hours per day cranking out articles to submit to directories.

Several hours per day commenting on blog posts.

Several hours per day creating “profile” links on forums and online communities.

Bookmarking your pages on hundreds of different social websites.

Value for money is not the issue here…

But value for time will make or break your business.

Only a tiny percentage of those who try to make money online actually achieve it…

With a smaller percentage still able to make a full-time living from their online efforts.

Most go broke or lose interest and quit before their websites rank well.

Don’t let this happen to you.

One of the best uses of your time to rank your website is to build your own private blog network…

A handful of high pagerank links from your own authority blogs to your main “money site” will do more to rank you well than hundreds, even thousands of low quality links that take months to build.

You can learn, step-by-step, how to do this with Link Juice Force.

Here’s the official preview video:

Don’t pass up on the opportunity of becoming the online authority…

For the cost of just a few dollars:

P.S. Remember, time is money, so don’t waste any more of either on ineffective link building strategies.

With your own private blog network, you can rank all of your “money sites” for the same amount of effort…

You can even sell links on the blogs for an additional income stream too!

Build your own private blog network now:

Today I want to let you in on a “secret” project I attempted earlier this year.

I wanted to create my own “private blog network” to link to some other websites I have in other niches to help boost their rankings in the search engines.

Unfortunately, this didn’t worked out as well as I’d hoped.

I didn’t really know what I was doing and out of sheer frustration I ended up ditching the idea.

A new training which covers setting up, building, maintaining and ever improving your own private blog network, Link Juice Force, would have helped me out a lot.

It goes live on Thursday 17 November and I recorded a preview for you here:

Here is the official Link Juice Force preview from Paul Clifford:

Click here to view the embedded video.

More details on this when it goes live but until then, leave me a comment to let me know what you think!

P.S. If you want some juicy links to tide you over till tomorrow, I recommend this pack of 150 “No B.S. Backlinks” from Jared Croslow.

You get all 150 sources of high authority backlinks for under $10 which is quite frankly, ridiculous.

It’s a dimesale too, so the longer you wait, the more you pay…
