Hmmm, that’s interesting – and what I always thought!

But so many people have been telling me to give away free “stuff” so that people will trust me, or so that I can get their email address, and that’s what I’ve been doing.

I must confess I haven’t found it working, so I’ll re-evaluate my approach and see what happens.

I have an ebook that sells for $10 as a lead into a more expensive product and was just about to change it to a freebie. I think I’ll keep collecting the $10s

Hi David
I never handed over hubdreds of dollars for an auto bundle without batting an eye! In the days when Eddie was well and able to drive and I was working, we changed our car every 3 years and I always haggled! Eddie left me to it and walked away! I always ended up with free extra’s. Guess I was a freebie seeker! Car salesmen sure hated me! They also made a lot of money out of me so all’s fair.

Hi David,

I believe that what ruins twitter is the automation apps.

I’m pretty sure that everyone is busy but twitter is a communication tool (or at least that was the whole purpose of building it in the first place) of 140 chars and nothing else.

As always, everyone started seeing how to take advantage of the tool, of the high rankings, of the possibility to appear on Google’s results as a “micro-blog” and so on.

The addition of automated tools was not that bad in the beginning since you could just set up a feed and start looping your own blog or other boring stuff (quotes, jokes, news, trends, etc) but then everyone started ruining it.

I believe twitter works IF, and only IF… you use it like you were supposed in the beginning.

I have around one thousand followers, I only follow about half but that’s because many of those followers are bots (I can’t make them stop following me).

But if you look at my twitter stream you are definitely going to see that a person is tweeting EVERYTHING there.

I do RT’s of others, I RT useful content on the web, I write stupid things from time to time, I post my own blog updates (only once) and I actually TALK to people there.

If I see somebody starts following me, it is an egg, or a hot girl, follows 1,879 persons and only is being followed by 3, ALL the messages include an affiliate link or some crap like that…

Do you think whoever is behind that, is actually going to care about what you tweet?

No and I already know you agree (otherwise you wouldn’t have written this post in the first place)

So, dying or not, if twitter is used like it was supposed to, I think it is still viable to have it.

Hey David,

The bundling technique works like a charm. I’ve seen it used in many different circumstances. In fact, they use it a lot on the show called, “American Pickers”. It’s about 2 guys that go out looking for all sorts of old “junk” they think they can make a profit off.

Bundling is one of their favorite techniques to get items when a seller won’t sell them a single item for a price they like. They bundle it with another item they like and offer a combo price and it almost always works.

No reason sales online should be any different.
